This week, the Seattle Seahawks made a somewhat surprising decision to part ways with head coach Pete Carroll. He made it pretty clear that it was not his decision to step down, and it also sounds like he would be interested in coaching again – though that might not be an option.

During a recent interview with Seattle Sports 710, Pete Carroll got brutally honest about his future, admitting that he would still love to be a head coach, but he “can’t imagine” that will be a possibility at this point in his life.

“I don’t know that,” Carroll said, via Brady Henderson of ESPN. “I’ve got plenty of energy for it and thought and willingness, but I can’t imagine there’s a place, the right one. I don’t know. I’m open to everything, but I’m not holding my breath on that.

“There’s a lot of world out here that I’m excited about challenging and going after. So if that happens, it happens. We’ll see. I really don’t know what to tell you about that yet.”

Though Carroll is currently 72 years old, he has made it clear that he still has a lot of energy left for coaching and wants to continue. We’ll have to see if he gets another chance.
