Over the past 27 years, Tiger Woods and Nike have formed one of the most iconic partnerships between a brand and an athlete in all of sports. But it sounds like that partnership is coming to an end.

On Monday morning, Tiger Woods announced that he was parting ways with the iconic sportswear brand and entering “another chapter” of his career.

“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world. The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever,” Woods said in a post on X, the social media website formerly known as Twitter. “Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.”

“People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!” Woods finished in his statement.

This is obviously a significant announcement for Woods and a pretty major blow for Nike as they lose an endorsement from one of the biggest and most prominent athletes on the planet.
