It looks like the New York Giants will be making a change at the quarterback position for this week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Giants had been rolling with quarterback rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito following a season-ending injury to Daniel Jones, even once veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor was healthy and ready to play. But it looks like DeVito’s run as the team’s starting quarterback is ending this week.

On Wednesday morning, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced that Tyrod Taylor will be the team’s starting quarterback this week against the Rams as the team was benching DeVito.

This move comes as the team decided to replace DeVito with Taylor at halftime of the team’s Christmas Day game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Taylor performed better in the game, and it was clear that he gave the team the best chance to win going forward.

It’s a pretty big announcement from the team, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Daboll said that Taylor “earned the right to start this game” after the way that he performed against the Eagles this weekend.
