This year, the College Football Playoff selection committee made the controversial decision to include the one-loss Alabama Crimson Tide in the field over the undefeated Florida State Seminoles. The move had Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders wondering how the committee would have handled the decision if it involved his team.

During a recent interview with ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Deion Sanders questioned if the committee would have left his team out of the field had they been in that situation.

“Coach Norvell coached his butt off and we can’t take nothing away from him,” Sanders told Smith according to SI. “But the real question that you have is would you leave me out of the college playoffs?”

Ultimately, Sanders doesn’t seem to think the committee would leave him and his team out of the College Football Playoff field, citing the ratings that he believes he and his team would bring to the event.

“Ain’t no way in the world,” Sanders said. “We’re box office. You got to see this unless you’re crazy. I wish I had the problems that coach Norvell has.”

Obviously, Sanders would have to put his team in that position first. And after they went just 4-8 this year, they have a long way to go before they’re even in the discussion.
