The Cincinnati Bengals already lost star quarterback Joe Burrow to a season-ending injury earlier this season, and now it looks like they’ll be without their other biggest star for at least one game as the team makes a playoff push.

According to a report from league insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Cincinnati Bengals will be without Ja’Marr Chase for at least this week’s game and potentially longer after he suffered a seperated shoulder during the team’s win over the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday afternoon.

“#Bengals star WR Ja’Marr Chase is likely to miss some time, sources said after the MRI on his separated shoulder today. The expectation is that he is sidelined for this week’s game against the #Steelers, and it could extend beyond that, as well,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Chase has been far and away the team’s leading receiver this season, leading the Bengals in both receptions with 93 as well as receiving yards with 1,156 and receiving touchdowns with seven. Chase has just one fewer touchdown reception this season as the rest of the Bengals receivers combined.

This is obviously a massive blow as the team tries to secure a playoff spot with backup quarterback Jake Browning. We’ll have to see how the team is able to respond this week.
