Last weekend, NBA megastar LeBron James attended the first game of his son Bronny James’ college basketball career when Bronny’s USC Trojans hosted Long Beach State. But it wasn’t the game that ultimately made headlines across the country, it was the actions of LeBron James before the game.

LeBron James chose a rather controversial time to make his way to his courtside seat – in the middle of the national anthem. Not only did James completely fail to acknowledge the playing of the national anthem by stopping and removing his hat, but he caused quite a bit of a distraction as he walked onto the court with a group of people flanked by a group of photographers.

The move clearly upset UFC star Colby Covington, who had a pretty brutal message for James’ apparent lack of respect for the national anthem.

“If you hate America so much, and you don’t like this country that gave you a billion dollars – leave it. Or come deal with me. Go to China. Go to these sweatshops that you employ all these laborers and use these women and pay them pennies on the dollar to make your millions,” Covington said according to Fox News.

“[Expletive] you LeBron James. You’re a coward. You’re a spineless coward and you’re a [expletive].”

James has not yet addressed the incident.
