This week, PGA Tour superstar Tiger Woods undoubtedly made the LIV Golf community quite angry when he climbed 430 spots in the Official World Golf Ranking after he finished third-to-last at his invitational Hero World Challenge on Sunday.
Tiger Woods entered the event with a career-low 1,328th in the OWGR, but he was able to climb all the way up to 898th in the OWGR after finishing 18th out of 20 golfers at the Hero World Challenge even despite the fact that it was just unofficial PGA Tour event and there is no cut.
This news would obviously upset LIV Golf players as LIV recently had its application to earn OWGR points denied in large part because LIV Golf events are limited to 48 players with no cut. Meanwhile, Woods was able to vault up the OWGR even though he competed in an event that was limited to 20 players and did not have a cut that he hosted himself.
Tiger Woods jumped 430 spots in the "Official World Golf Rankings" from 1328 to 898 this week.

OWGR points are important for players to receive invitations to golf’s four major tournaments – the Masters Tournament, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the Open Championship. With LIV Golf players unable to earn OWGR points in LIV events, it heavily limits how many LIV players can compete in majors.
