The Ohio State Buckeyes fell to the Michigan Wolverines in their rivalry showdown on Saturday with quarterback Kyle McCord throwing two back-breaking interceptions to help seal the team’s fate. As a result, one Ohio State national champion wants the Buckeyes to pursue a different quarterback – Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning.

Following Ohio State’s loss to Michigan, former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett, who helped lead the Buckeyes to the 2002 national championship, called for Arch Manning to transfer to Ohio State in a since-deleted post on social media.

“Come on Dawg…. Get in that transfer portal. We will have your whole life turnt up. I know your whole family paid but ain’t nothing like being a star at an elite school. Quinn Ewers ain’t going nowhere soon.” Clarett posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, according to SI.com.

Manning is currently in his first season at Texas after joining the Longhorns last spring. He was the No. 1 overall quarterback prospect in the 2023 high school recruiting class, but he was just third on the depth chart throughout the season, behind both Quinn Ewers and backup Maalik Murphy.

With Ewers likely returning and Murphy just a redshirt sophomore, it could be at least one more season before Manning gets his chance at Texas, leading some to speculate he could be interested in transferring.

However, it’s worth noting that Manning has not entered the transfer portal and there has been no indication that he intends to enter the transfer portal.
