The Minnesota Vikings defeated the hated Green Bay Packers on Sunday, 24-10, despite losing veteran starting quarterback Kirk Cousins for the season to a torn Achilles tendon.

The win moved the Vikings to 4-4 on the season, good for second place in the NFC North. The win was their third in a row.

The Vikings didn’t make any trades to fill the void to left by Cousins’ injury. However, they could still sign future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady is currently retired and recently saw his effort to buy a minority stake in the Raiders, which would forbid him from playing, stall as numerous owners griped about the price.

Legendary NFL blogger Mike Florio was the first to present the theory that the Vikings should call Brady.

“Am I the only one thinking the Vikings should call Tom Brady?” Florio asked on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

He wasn’t alone, either, as many Vikings fans pointed out that their social media had been taken over by fellow fans wanting the same result.

The NFL world was quick to react to the unlikely theory:

The Vikings are next in action on Sunday when they head to Georgia to face the Atlanta Falcons in NFC play.
