Heading into the NFL season, Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill made it clear that he wanted to become the first wide receiver in the history of the league to record 2,000 receiving yards in a single season. And through less than halfway through the NFL season, Hill is already halfway there.

During Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, Tyreek Hill had eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. The performance gives him 1,014 on the season through just eight games. And as NFL analyst Ari Meirov points out, that makes him the first player in the Super Bowl era to accomplish this feat.

“#Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill is already over 1,000 yards on the season, and he is now the first player in the Super Bowl [era] to have 1,000+ yards in his team’s first 8 games,” Meirov said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

It’s a pretty insane stat for Hill that shows just how dominant he’s been for the Miami Dolphins so far this season, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

He’s well on pace to absolutely shatter the single-season NFL receiving record.
