U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, of Texas, speaks Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at a rally in support of Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt's reelection at Crossroads Church in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoman

Opponents of the Houston Astros are starting to hope that Texas junior Senator Ted Cruz attends every one of their games.

The Republican Senator showcased his seats along the first-base line at Minutemade Stadium on Sunday Night with his daughter Catherine.

The duo were in attendance as the Houston Astros hosted the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series.

Unfortunately for Cruz, the Astros moved to 0-2 in the postseason when he attended one of their games.

The MLB world mercilessly mocked Cruz for daring to appear at the game:

To make matters worse for Cruz, his Astros lost Game 2 of the series on Monday night, 5-4 to fall into an 0-2 hole overall.

It’s not clear whether Cruz attended that game. If he did, he didn’t make the mistake of posting his presence on social media.

Cruz, along with being a United States Senator, is also an attorney and political commentator. He graduated from Princeton Unversity and Harvard Law School. He got started in politics as a policy advisor to George W. Bush before then-Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott appointed Cruz to serve as Solicitor General in 2003.

In 2013, Texas elected him as Senator to serve alongside John Cornyn. He is a longtime Astros fan.
