The ten most-followed celebrity Instagram accounts have yet to show support for Israel in the days following the latest chapter in its ongoing war with Hamas.

Celebrities, including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, as well as soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, have yet to comment on the ongoing war that has killed over 2,000 Israelis and Palestinian people.

The list also includes the likes of Beyonce and various members of the Kardashian family. The report from Breitbart notes, however, that Kylie Jenner deleted a pro-Israel message after an onslaught of negative comments over the weekend.

“In the past four days, a select number of left-wing celebrities have publicly voiced their support for Israel, including Debra Messing, Amy Schumer, Mark Hamill, Jamie Lee Curtis, and the Israeli-born Gal Gadot and Natalie Portman,” Daniel Ng of Breitbart wrote.

The “defeating silence indicates a public relations conundrum for celebrities with gargantuan social media followings,” Ng continued. “Showing support for Israel could count as a strike against them in the eyes of fans.”

The Rock hasn’t shied away from political controversy in the past. In 2020, he voiced support for Black Lives Matter while also criticizing then-president Donald Trump over his handling of the George Floyd protests.
