Former United States President Donald Trump has built his following on his patriotism and dedication to the United States, but he took a lot of criticism this week for his very anti-American and un-patriotic words on Sunday following the United States Women’s National Team’s loss to Sweden.

On Sunday, the USWNT suffered a shocking loss to Sweden in a penalty kick shootout, ending the team’s run through the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in the round of 16, marking the earliest the team has ever been eliminated from the tournament.

And following their defeat, Donald Trump sent a pretty brutal message about the team on his Truth Social, mocking the team and superstar Megan Rapinoe for their loss.

“The ‘shocking and totally unexpected’ loss by the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team to Sweden is fully emblematic of what is happening to the our once great Nation under Crooked Joe Biden. Many of our players were openly hostile to America – No other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. WOKE EQUALS FAILURE. Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! MAGA,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Obviously, a former president openly mocking a team that represents the United States did not go over too well with people on social media.

Meanwhile, current United States President Joe Biden applauded the team for their efforts, saying the USWNT made the nation proud.
