Golf influencer Paige Spiranac had to set the record straight on Thursday over a meme that went viral regarding a saucy reveal she might do if Rickie Fowler ever wins a golf major.
“A meme account posted a fake tweet awhile ago and now people are blowing up my DMs!” Spiranac told her nearly 900,000 Twitter followers. “This is not true so don’t get your hopes up. But I did pick Rickie as a long shot so at least I have that going for me lol.”

Fowler set the golf world on fire Thursday when he carded a 62 to finish 8-under during Thursday’s opening round of the 2023 U.S. Open at the Los Angeles Country Club.
Shockingly, Fowler was tied just 20 minutes later when Xander Schauffele did the same thing.
“Monkey see, monkey do,” Schauffele said. “[I] was just chasing Rickie up the leaderboard. Glad he was just in front of me.”
Fowler, the world’s No. 45 golfer heading into the week, has never won a major. He’s finished in the top three in all four majors, with his best finish coming at the 2018 Masters and 2014 U.S. Open, coming in second place at both.
Fowler talked about his amazing round afterward and what it means.
“A lot longer being in that situation than you’d ever want to. But it makes it so worth it having gone through that and being back where we are now,” Fowler said. “I would say we’re starting to get maybe as close as we’ve ever been to where I was through kind of that ’14, ’15 area. This week off to a good start, but there’s still plenty of golf to be played. It’s going to be tough [Friday] afternoon, but at least got out of the gate and we’re off to a good start.”
