It’s time again to celebrate Friday and enjoy some outright nasty pitches. Every Friday we’ll review the top pitching GIFs of the week, featuring the best heaters and breaking pitches from all around the league.

All GIFs courtesy of PitcherList.com, a terrific site for any baseball fan and a great Twitter follow for endless Pitching GIFs.

Adam Ottavino was given the closer role this week in Colorado, and in his first opportunity he struck out the side. Feel free to let out a “Uhhhh” as you watch his filthy Slider freeze Justin Maxwell for strike three.

Masahiro Tanaka may be on the verge of season ending surgery, but he still has enough in the tank to strike out Pablo Sandoval with his signature Splitter. There really isn’t a better one in the game.

Collin McHugh has been doing his best to prove that he’s not a fluke after striking out eleven batters in under six innings this week. He relies on his big Curveball to put batters away, like this one to Prince Fielder.

Aaron Sanchez is armed with one of the most lively Fastballs around, throwing 97 MPH heat that can move across the plate in a blink of an eye. Not only can Steven Souza Jr. not touch it, but catcher Russel Martin has trouble keeping it in front of him.

While he may not be a household name, Chris Heston will surely be remembered by Troy Tulowitzki after this pitch. There’s little better than seeing batters jump away only to be sent back to the dugout.
