Terrell Owens thinks the Giants need to move on from Eli Manning.

The Hall of Fame former Eagles wide receiver caught up with TMZ, where he suggested the Giants bench Manning so that someone else can get an opportunity.

“Odell [Beckham Jr.] can’t perform because the quarterback is not performing. So, they should basically replace the quarterback.”

“I mean, if it was anybody else, any other quarterback, he would have already been replaced. So, at this point, give someone else an opportunity.”

Owens isn’t exactly wrong.

Manning has been brutal this season, throwing eight touchdowns, six picks and fumbling the ball four times. The Giants have lost five straight games and sit a putrid 1-7. The season is lost, and the 37-year-old looks finished.

The thing keeping Eli starting? The Giants don’t exactly have a replacement ready to step in. Rookie Kyle Lauletta or 30-year-old Alex Tanney are not exactly suitable replacements. Although, you’ve got to think just changing quarterbacks would inject some spunk into a lifeless Giants squad. Plus, can they perform worse than Eli? It’s a low bar.

Owens is frustrated to see one of the best wide receivers ever (Beckham Jr.) have a past-his-prime QB throwing him the ball. He’s right; it’s time the Giants do something different because Eli clearly isn’t the answer.
