In a disturbing video, Mike Woodbury, coach and CEO of the private school called Nation Christian Academy based in Florida, was recorded absolutely berating and cursing out a former player asked for a transfer.
The audio is brutal and very NSFW. Woodbury called Marvens Petion “retarded,” a “f*ck face,” while telling him “I’m gonna f*ck you in your ass the next time you talk out of line.” To cap things off, Woodbury threatens him by saying he’ll “take everything” from Petion and says he can have him sent back to Haiti.
Woodbury told Stadium, Petion was caught with multiple violations including skipping class, theft, attempting to extort school administrators and having alcohol in his room. Even if those allegations are all true (which they haven’t been confirmed) the language and rhetoric Woodbury used are incredibly messed up.
Woodbury doubled down when asked about the recording saying he regretted trying “to be a father figure.”
“No. f*ck, no,” Woodbury said when asked by Stadium if he had any regrets about the interaction. “Yes and no. I regret the fact I tried to be a father figure. It hurts my heart.”
A father figure? More like a bully.
Thankfully, Petion transferred to West Oaks Academy and won’t have to deal with Woodbury’s harsh bullying anymore. Additionally, two more players have transferred.
Woodbury shouldn’t be terrorizing players. This should be a major red flag for parents looking to send their kids to his program.
