Charles Barkley wasn’t impressed with the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 of the team’s series against the Houston Rockets.
The TNT analyst took issue with the Timberwolves lack of switching and failing to take advantages of mismatches during their 104-101 loss to the Rockets. Ranting after the first half of the T-Wolves game, Barkley called Minnesota “one of the dumbest teams I’ve ever seen in my life.”

The score may have been closer than anyone expected, but the team made a number of baffling decisions in the game. Perhaps, the oddest decision being star center Karl-Anthony Towns shooting just nine shots in 40 minutes while finishing with just eight points. Meanwhile, Tom Thibodeau’s reclamation project Derrick Rose took 14 shots (scoring 16) and Jamaal Crawford took 11 shots (scoring 15).
The T-Wolves distribution and playstyle hampered what could have been a win against a really good Rockets team. Are they the “dumbest” team ever? No. But, they certainly didn’t help themselves with their matchups.
