NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers, as many expected, toppled the Cardinals to advance to Super Bowl 50. Apparently, Josh Norman didn’t get the memo that his team was favored.

After the 49-15 win, Norman decided to act like the underdog when pretty much nobody had Carolina tabbed as such. He went off on his imaginary critics to the New York Daily News:

“I watch. I’m not dumb to what goes on,” Norman said. “So all them guys that’s sitting up there picking the Cardinals, great. And thinking that they’re gonna blow us out because we’ve never seen a wide receiving corps like that, great.”

I’d like Norman to cite one individual who expected the Cardinals to blow them out, but let’s move on to another bizarre statement of his:

“People still saying this is a fluke. I’m sure they’re going to go back and say, ‘Well, the Cardinals had an off night.’ You know what, continue to make excuses for teams. We enjoy it. We love it.”

A fluke, huh? Winning when your team is a three-point favorite is now considered a fluke, folks.

The Panthers are favored over the Broncos for Super Bowl 50, so we’re looking forward to Norman’s motivational underdog speech if Carolina wins that one too.
