A few weeks ago, Grizzlies forward and professional agitator Matt Barnes landed in the news when he reportedly got into a physical altercation with New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher over Fisher’s relationship with Barnes’ estranged wife.
Given the rather sensitive nature of the alleged incident, it’s not too surprising to learn that fans are already trying to use the embarrassing moment against Barnes during games.
During the Grizzlies’ Thursday night game against the Pacers, Pacers fans rained down calls of “Derek Fisher” at Barnes while he was trying to shoot some free throws.
Considering that these sorts of taunts were inevitable the moment that the news broke earlier this month, Barnes will have plenty of time to adjust to the taunts when he hears them from every single non-Memphis fan base moving forward.
