UCLA surrendered a double-digit second half lead to SMU as the Mustangs put together an absurd 19-0 run to give them a comfortable lead. However, the Bruins stormed back and ultimately prevailed on an extremely controversial goaltending call.
Down two, sophomore guard Bryce Alford lofted up a prayer three-pointer that was clearly off target and would be lucky to catch the rim. However, SMU’s Yanick Moreira tipped the ball as it was just inches away from the bucket, prompting a goaltending call.
