One of the stories which spread quickly before the NFL Combine was that Jameis Winston was going to show up looking heftier than usual.

Granted, this was largely based on a one month old photo of Winston that has been circulating recently.

However, Winston has been training with quarterback coach George Whitfield since the offseason began and he reportedly lost 12 pounds in preparation for the Combine according to Peter King of Sports Illustrated.

Whitfield said he used the three weeks he’s spent with Winston since the college football season ended in getting him healthy (he had a high ankle sprain late in the season) and in better shape (he’s dropped 12 pounds), and increasing his urgency in the pocket and in his motion.

So, it’s not surprising that Winston showed up to the Combine in very good shape. Winston’s measurements at the Combine have him listed at a very healthy 6’3 3/4″ and 231 pounds. He seemed very proud of his physique when he met with reporters on Friday.
