This was a complete surprise to just about everyone. Beck wins the Grammy for Album of the Year for his incredible album Morning Phase. Beck beat out Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell, and Sam Smith. You could hear a pin drop when Prince announced Beck the winner.
Not only was Beck surprised, so was Beyonce’s pal Kanye West. Yeezy jokingly went up to the mic while Beck was beginning his speech before laughing off and returning to his seat. The look on Beck’s face when Kanye walked up is priceless, he looks terrified.
Congrats Beck, Morning Phase was one of my favorite albums of 2014 and a favorite of the Next Impulse team.
