NBA history is littered with the ghosts of the most shameful of missed shots: the air ball free throw. Victims include Shaquille O’Neal (who once claimed he never airballed a free throw in his career), Blake Griffin (the rare two-fer), Andre Drummond (maybe those two-fers aren’t so rare?), DeAndre Jordan, Dwight Howard (many times) and a litany of other players. Hell, even LeBron James has suffered the indignity on more than one occasion. While truly shameful, it’s also hilarious. And, when it happens twice in a single weekend — with one instance involving a player whose name rhymes with KaDale McPhee — it’s worth highlighting.
