Last Night at Fenway Park, Jack White went on a “Kanye West-esque rant” about Rolling Stone not covering Newport Folk Fest to Foo Fighters using backing guitar tracks.  As you can imagine, Rolling Stone wasn’t really a fan of White bashing the magazine .

White claimed that RS hadn’t covered the Newport Folk Fest in over 50 years and that they only put out black and white covers if the person is dead. Rolling Stone later denied and proved White wrong on both accusations.  This  isn’t the first time Jack and RS have had disagreements, earlier this year at Bonnaroo White called the magazine “a tabloid” after his cover story.

Earlier today Foo Fighters fired back with this hilarious tweet:

Now the publicity firm Nasty Little Man, who represents both acts, has released a statement regarding the drama:

Dear dream-makers of the media….

Last night Jack White made a joke on stage!

There was a minor equipment mishap, specifically with his guitar, and in an effort to keep his audience engaged, he made a joke! It was meant to be funny and self deprecating: “hey sorry, you’re stuck with just me up here…” vs the Foo Fighters who have three guitar players on stage and regularly play stadium shows.

Jack has the upmost respect for the Foo Fighters and communicated with Grohl this morning.

So if you’ll let us, we’ll all continue with our day and we assure you: All is well in the rock n roll world.

I’m glad this whole nonsense is over with,  I honestly couldn’t pick a side in this battle (just kidding I totally could).  Listen to jokester Jack White’s rant below and you be the judge of whether or not this was really White’s attempt at a joke.
