49ers Fail to Win 8 Games
The additions of Carlos Hyde and Stevie Johnson on offense are being gloriously overhyped and while the Niners will gladly take their respective assets, neither are game-changers in 2014.
Frank Gore’s age is a concern, regardless of what the team says or NFL “experts” saying he’s still a borderline top tier RB. Can he top 1,000 yards again? Of course, but can he top 4.0 YPC again while remaining a reliable blocker for Colin Kaepernick? That’s the biggest concern.
If San Francisco stumbles in Dallas on Sunday, their schedule doesn’t set up well for a rebound with Chicago, Arizona and Philadelphia closing out the first quarter of the season.
