swedegoal

I’d never heard of Sebastian Idoff before today, but I’m pretty sure I just watched the worst goal he’ll give up in his life. Idoff, netminder for Södertälje of Sweden’s HockeyAllsvenskan, let up an end-to-end goal from around 180 feet away on Tuesday, and it was definitely a head-scratcher.

After an opposing defenseman for Vasteras missed his intended target for a long breakout pass, the puck sped past the intended recipient and into Idoff’s zone, where it whizzed towards net and managed to squirt its way past Idoff deep in net, putting Vasteras up by one-goal. Woof.

Södertälje ultimately managed to tie the game and force a shootout, but they eventually lost. I’m sure that was a fun locker room after the game.
