Something you should never do if you’re in the business of reporting: steal a (phony) scoop, try to pass it off as your own, realize the scoop isn’t actually real, change your Twitter picture to the default egg, change your Twitter handle, change the name associated with your new handle to “Ralph.”

JIM BOWDEN DID ALL OF THAT IN THAT EXACT ORDER.

Actually, I’m still a bit confused by everything Jim Bowden did. Mainly because he’s acting like a panicked, irrational person that just got caught stealing. Either way, this is fucking hilarious. Try to stay with me.

1. A fake Joel Sherman Twitter account tweeted that the Yankees had acquired Marlon Byrd from the Phillies.

4. Jim Bowden changed his Twitter handle from @JimBowdenESPNxm to @JimBowdiv.

Why? We don’t know. WE CAN STILL SEE YOU JIM.

5. Ralph

HE CHANGED HIS NAME TO RALPH!

Don’t worry, it gets even better. Because Bowden changed his original Twitter handle, he left it wide open to be occupied. Someone has occupied it. Yes, they are tweeting.

Ralph.
