Once upon a time, four-winged raptors roamed the earth. Discovered in China, the feathered Changyuraptor yangi would have weighed nine pounds and measured four feet long. It likely swooped down from the sky to prey on mammals, early birds and you in your nightmares. The hind wings likely helped the raptors control their diving motion.
