I mean, it’s an awesome looking goal if one can ignore the fact that John Boye scored against his own team.
As for how this helps the US, USMNT entered today’s games with four points to Ghana’s and Portugal’s one. If the teams tie, then it goes to a tiebreaker, the first being goal differential. The US is at +1 while Portugal is at -4.
