50 CentTuesday night, rapper 50 Cent threw a ceremonial first pitch at a Mets game, and — because this is what we like to do these days — it was immediately deemed the worst first pitch in the history of everything. But how bad was it, really? The Washington Post reviewed 30 ceremonial first pitches, and plotted them on a nifty graphic, including George W. Bush’s famous, pressure-packed strike in the 2001 World Series, and Cincinnati mayor Mark Mallory’s epic fail from 2007.

While Fiddy’s toss at least didn’t sail behind an imaginary batter (really, Nolan Ryan?), it traveled well beyond Mallory territory, making his arguably the worst of all time. However, our vote goes to someone who was so bad that his didn’t even make the list:

Why? Because it’s Carl friggin’ Lewis, one of the greatest athletes in human history, and he couldn’t even get enough air on the throw to make it halfway to home plate.
