In a show of solidarity with the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat players dropped their logo shirts at center court prior to Monday night’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats, and proceeded to warm up with their shooting shirts turned inside out. Clippers players did the same thing before yesterday’s game against the Warriors, just one day after racially-charged comments from owner Donald Sterling became public.

While it’s a nice gesture from Miami, it does come across as a bit strange, considering none of the players have any association with Sterling other than the fact he owns a team in a league they play for. Also, considering that owners, coaches and players — including LeBron James — have issued statements condemning Sterling’s words, this display doesn’t feel quite as effective as the Clippers’ poignant moment just 24 hours earlier.
