One of Mike Napoli’s fingers fell victim to a head-first slide into base on Tuesday night as the Red Sox took on the White Sox in Chicago. The Sox first baseman suffered a dislocated ring finger, and the resulting images should serve as a PSA to always slide feet first.

Adding insult to injury, Napoli had to be pulled because of the injury and the team eventually lost in the 9th inning when his replacement, Mike Carp, couldn’t handle a bad throw from shortstop Xander Bogaerts.
