John Tavares means a lot to New York Islanders fans (trust me I would know, I am wearing this shirt while typing this). He has absolutely revitalized a once left for dead franchise.
In terms of love for their team Islander fans can go toe-to-toe with any fanbase, they may not put up big numbers like big market corporations teams, but Isles fans are whackos.
Despite a horrific season and a front office that makes you queasy, fans like Ashley Diffendale make me proud to be an Islander fan.
