Just when you thought the Dwightmare was over, it appears we have somewhat of a post script to add. In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel‘s Josh Robbins, Dwight Howard confessed that he’s upset over the Magic’s decision to let the recently-acquired Tobias Harris wear his old number (#12):
“I just think that despite whatever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and that we did as a team, and that number was special down there,” Howard said. “And I was a little bit upset about that.”
Harris was acquired in a trade with Milwaukee in February, and Harris wears #12 in honor of a friend who died of leukemia at age 17. Regardless of whether or not Dwight knows Harris’ story, there’s no reason for him to pout over someone else wearing his jersey, especially considering the manner in which he left Orlando.
