Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub has had a dreadful season, piling up nine interceptions in only six games, plus setting a record for throwing a pick-six in four straight games. The Texans who had high aspirations before the season started now have a lowly 2-4 record after Sunday’s spanking by the St. Louis Rams by the score 38-13. In the third quarter Schaub suffered a foot injury which forced him to leave the game. Texans fans celebrated their quarterback’s early demise by cheering Schaub’s injury. They then were excited to see back-up QB T.J Yates come in for the injured Shaub. The jubilation didn’t last long because Yates threw an interception which was returned 98-yards for a touchdown. Looks like Schaub has been mentoring Yates quite well.

Several of Schaub’s teammates thought the cheering was disgusting and came to his defense including linebacker Brian Cushing who called the cheering, “barbaric.” Left tackle Duane Brown had this to say about the fans’ behavior, “We appreciate you loyal fans and the fans that stick by us. I want to put that out there first. But for the fans that cheered when he got hurt, that’s disgusting. This is his livelihood. This is how he provides for his family.” Receiver Andre Johnson called out fans by saying, “It’s bad when members of the other team are saying that’s messed up that they would do something like that. It just shows no class.”
