That is video of Cubs center fielder Rick Monday saving an American flag from protestors trying to burn it on the field at Dodger Stadium in 1976. Monday received a standing ovation in his next at-bat, instantly becoming an American hero.
Tonight, when the Cubs are in town, the Dodgers are giving away Rick Monday “flag saving” bobbleheads in the most American promotion ever. Not the to mention how awesome the bobblehead is.
Thank you, Rick Monday.
