Spc. William Johanson-Kubin of the 463rd Military Police Company had one pretty incredible two-tiered surprise for his girlfriend prior to the St. Louis Cardinals’ game against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night. Johanson-Kubin made a surprise visit from Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, where he has been stationed since December and did it in remarkable fashion. He dressed up as a catcher as his girlfriend threw out the first pitch, and that is when the fin began. He removed the mask and then proceeded to up the ante by dropping to one knee and proposing.
