As Donald Trump continues his presidential campaign against current United States President Joe Biden, he got some pretty horrible news on the business front as the liquor licenses of two of his golf courses in New Jersey have not been renewed as a result of his hush money conviction last month.

The New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control did not renew the liquor licenses of Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck and Trump National Golf Club Bedminster, a spokesperson for the New Jersey attorney general’s office told The Hill in an email. The licenses expired on Sunday, but the two golf clubs were issued interim permits to serve alcohol until a hearing is later this month.

The Trump Organization has attempted to argue that Trump is not the holder of the liquor licenses and thus, the decision is not justified. However, after an initial review of the matter, the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control found that Donald Trump “maintains a direct beneficial interest in the three liquor licenses through the receipt of revenues and profits from them, as the sole beneficiary of the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust.”

Needless to say, this is pretty horrible news for Trump as a liquor license is important for the various events held at the properties, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.

The final decision regarding Trump’s liquor license will come following the July 19 hearing.
