Throughout the past few weeks leading up to the NFL Draft, there have been some rumors and rumblings that the Las Vegas Raiders could be interested in trading up to select LSU Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels given the familiarity between Daniels and Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce going back to their time together at Arizona State. And Daniels addressed that speculation this week.

During a recent appearance on the Nightcap Show with Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson, Jayden Daniels was asked about the possibility of playing for the Raiders. While he wouldn’t go into details about he he thinks the Raiders could pull it off, he did make it very clear that he would like to play in Vegas for Antonio Pierce.

“I don’t know how they’re gonna pull it off,” Daniels said. “But I mean that’s above my pay grade, man. . . . A.P. just as a human being, he’s the right coach for that team. You know, just him and the intensity that he brings. He challenges people. He was challenging me at 18. So I know if I was to go to the Raiders — I’m not saying I’m gonna go there or I wanna go there, I wanna go wherever name is called — if I was to go to the Raiders, I know as soon as I step foot, he’s gonna challenge me.”

It would certainly take a blockbuster trade for the Raiders to pull it off. We’ll have to see whether or not it happens.
