Inactive Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon will not face further discipline for a 2015 DUI charge now he’s stayed out of trouble from the law for a year.

According to TMZ, after completing more than 100 hours of community service, Blackmon is now in the clear from getting arrested for a DUI from two years ago.

In case you forgot, Blackmon was arrested after failing a field sobriety test, his second DUI arrest in three years. The former first-round pick hasn’t played a down of football since 2013 season after multiple DUIs, failed drug tests and getting arrested for possession of marijuana.

It’s good to see Blackmon stay out of trouble. He appeared to be on the verge of stardom, but legal trouble and substance abuse issues derailed a once promising career. It’s hard to say whether Blackmon will ever play another snap in the NFL – it’s unlikely – but it’s great to see him stay out of trouble. Hopefully, he’s on the path to living a better, more productive life. Let’s hope the next story involving him is another positive step forward.
