It’s pretty amazing how poorly the Ravens have continued to publicly handle Ray Rice’s domestic assault against his then-fiancee during a night out in an Atlantic City casino back in Feburary. Earlier this summer, they held an awful press conference to address the incident and accompanied it with some of the worst social media handling you’ll ever witness. Then, the team’s own website published an asinine article that attempted to defend Rice and his character after the incident.

But they’re apparently not done there. The team’s official Facebook page posted a video of fans giving Rice  “a very warm reception” at training camp on Monday, because Yay! Celebrating people who beat women is awesome!

While it’s pretty disappointing to see that Rice got cheered in camp, it’s also not that surprising – fans tend to show blind allegiance to their city’s most talented athletes despite ugly off-the-field incidents. What is surprising, though, is that the Ravens would be dumb enough to think it’s a good idea to proudly display that ignorance to the public.

But, then again, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised at how dumb the Ravens PR team is anymore.
