For the first time ever, adidas will integrate its famous Boost cushioning in their basketball shoes.

Up until now, Boost has been used exclusively on some of the adidas running shoe models but the technology will be utilized on the upcoming D Rose 5 Boost and Crazylight Boost sneaker lines. Boost cushioning is designed to deliver maximum comfort and responsiveness so it’s a great fit for a basketball shoe, especially on the court.

In order to demonstrate Boost’s cushioning, adidas made this striking video of Derrick Rose and Damian Lillard:

At the official unveiling of the D Rose 5 Boost and Crazy Light Boost on July 27th in Las Vegas, Derrick Rose gave his new shoe his seal of approval:

“Having the Boost cushioning in my new signature shoe makes it the most favorite of mine that we’ve ever done,” said Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose. “I’ve played in them for a couple months, but every time I put them on it feels like a new shoe and it’s the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. Now, I can’t imagine playing without Boost in my shoes.”

Rose wasn’t the only NBA star to highlight adidas’ event. Damian Lillard was also on hand to help launch the Crazylight Boost, a sneaker which also features Boost technology. Lillard also highlighted Boost’s performance features:

“Boost compliments my style of play unlike any other shoe,” Portland Trail Blazers NBA All-Star point guard Damian Lillard said. “The immediate comfort you feel when you put on Boost is amazing, and it lasts until the moment you take it off. When you’re an athletic guard in the league, you’re constantly coming down hard over the top of big guys or when you get fouled. With Boost, it’s a lot less impact and more cushioning on my heels.”

Other NBA stars at the event included Marcus Smart, Jrue Holiday, Joakim Noah, Tim Hardaway Jr, Jeff Teague and Arron Afflalo. Watch for these players to be among those rocking the Crazylight Boost in the coming NBA season.
