Albert Pujols was sitting on 498 home runs entering Tuesday night’s game. Pujols hit No. 499 in the first-inning with a three-run jack. Pujols then followed that up with No.500 came in the fifth inning, becoming the 26th player ever to belt 500 home runs.
Pujols’ milestone home run ended up right in the hands of one fan in center field only to have him muff the catch and the ball ending up in the hands of another guy. Probably should have brought your mitt to the game.
Tom Sherrill, the fan who caught Pujols’ home run, gave the ball back to the 34-year-old and asked for nothing in return.
