Things are going pretty well for the Milwaukee Brewers these days, riding a nine-game winning streak and MLB-best 10-2 record into Monday.
But you wouldn’t have known that by the reaction of Matt Garza, after the Brewers’ pitcher allowed a three-run homer to the St. Louis Cardinals’ Jon Jay in the seventh inning of Monday night’s game at Miller Park:
Now, every game against the Cardinals (still the heavy favorites to win the NL Central) should be considered a big one for Garza and the Brewers, but even Carlos Zambrano would may say, “Dude, let’s take it down a notch.”
It’s mid-April, and even with this 4-0 loss, the Brewers still have the best record in the majors at 10-3, as well as a two-game lead over the Cardinals in the NL Central.
