wozniacki-tweet

In one of the more ridiculous break-up stories, Rory McIlroy has reportedly cut ties with Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki after taking this unauthorized picture and posting it on Twitter.  That’s a big no-no in this day and age.

Almost immediately following the tweet, Independent Woman reported that the relationship is over.  While there were most likely a string of events that led up to the split, the photograph was one of the final straws.  In addition, the ugly mess has Wozniacki feeling some kind of way:

The world-class tennis player is said to be “absolutely devastated” by the Irish golfer’s decision, having recently made her intentions clear that she wanted to give the relationship another go. After the story originally appeared in the Sunday Independent, McIlroy denied the split in an attempt to placate his girlfriend and get the relationship back on track …

In an even more recent report, Wozniacki has denied all rumors of the split and is fed up with all the gossip centered around the relationship:

I’m so tired of the rumors. They occur every time Rory and I are apart a few days or do not write on Twitter. There is nothing in it, and from now on I just think that I will keep my private life private. It is so annoying that the media and the so-called sources constantly spread the rumors. They write just what they want.

[…] All is well [with the relationship], and then there’s not much more to say about it. I just want to be allowed to live my life off the court without all the speculation.

Now we don’t know who to believe!  On one hand you have the primary source, someone who is actually a party in the relationship saying one thing, and on the other hand there are millions of media outlets saying another.  The truth can be so elusive.  Looks like we just need to wait to hear from Rory.

But, feels like there’s hope, and unfortunately it looks like we won’t be seeing anymore candid pics from Wozniacki if this thing is going to have a real shot.
