The Phoenix Suns and General Manager Lance Blanks may not be having the greatest year on the court, but off the court they are doing the things that really matter. The Suns took part recently in the Make-A-Wish program and made the dream of 12-year-old Jonah Zahm, who suffers from an extremely rare seizure disorder, come true and then some. Zahm is forced to take 12-15 pills a day just to limit the amount of seizures he has.
The Suns set up a dream day where they held a press conference officially announcing that Zahm was signed to the Suns, and treated him like one of their own throughout the rest of the day. “The star gets to sit where he likes,” Suns told Zahm as they met in the conference room behind a podium.
This was Blanks’ best signing. He presented Zahm with a contract for a day, worth at least $5,000 if he can find a lawyer to make it binding.
“Today is an exciting day in Suns basketball,” Blanks said. “I have the honor of introducing what I think will be the greatest Sun for a day in history.”
