The Mega Millions jackpot has reached an all time high of $500 million. People all over the country are lining up to purchase their tickets to get a chance to win after nobody guessed the correct numbers on Tuesday’s drawing, which was set at $363 million. The winning numbers from Tuesday were: 9 – 19 – 34 – 44 – 51, with the mega number 24. Forty-seven people guessed five of the six winning numbers, getting a cool $250,000 each.
This new jackpot record is $110 million more than the previous jackpot, set back in March of 2007. If somebody wins the next drawing on Friday night, they can take their winnings over an extended period of time or (what most would do) take an immediate payout of $359 million. The odds of winning, however, are estimated at one in almost 176 million, so don’t set your hopes to high.
