Royal Wedding Drove More Internet Traffic Than Bin Laden’s Death

When President Obama announced that the United States had finally found and neutralized Osama bin Laden it sent the interwebs into a tizzy. As the President was on TV confirming the news, overall web traffic went up 25% globally, peaking at over 4M page views per minute. The data is tracked by Akamai’s Net Usage Index for News and the numbers show that while bin Laden’s death certainly drove the masses online, there were 14 other news events that were bigger.
