MTV’s Hottest MC’s in the Game

Speaking of Eminem…MTV is back with it’s highly anticipated “2010 Hottest MC’s List” And after all these years, guess who’s #1? Honestly not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing for hip hop music. A couple of observations on the list overall:

  • I LOVE Jay-Z. But the fact that a 40 year old is #2 on this list is sad state of affairs. Where’s the youthful innovation?
  • Rick Ross is at #5 and 50 cent isn’t even included. That is rapper redemption for the Ages. Office Ricky stands tall
  • Nicki Minaj is overrated
  • Wacka Flocka Flame is the worst name in the history of music. This guy screams one hit wonder. Get him off the list.
  • B.O.B. is on heavy rotation on Radio Disney. Radio Disney.

What are your thoughts on the list?

    this list is indicative of exactly what is wrong with (e)M(p)T(y)V. there are so many glaring omissions, it is not even worth breaking it down. i am not currently wearing a backpack, but where is jay electronica? the fact is, unless you’ve dropped 2 million buck$ on a video, you have no hope of making this list.

    at least they haven’t tried a top 10 MC’s of all time list lately. i shudder to think what Yo! MTV Raps would be like if they brought it back… these poor kids who grew up on Ma$e & Lil’ Bow Wow (aka Rajon Rondo).

      I agree. If the list is talking about hottest MC’s RIGHT NOW, then where the hell is Gucci?
